Jesus tells us a parable of the sower who scattered seeds onto the ground, some took well and germinated, while others did not. The parable is an important message that the word of God needs to be tilled into fertile ground. Some of us are called to be sowers of the word, others are called to till the ground in preparation for the sowing.
Whilst the sewing that we have on display is not the sowing talked of in scripture, we are using the play on words to emphasise our distinction of roles in the body of Christ.
The images show more pieces made for my Art exhibition.

Linen is mentioned more than any other fabric in the Bible as it has connections with holiness and purity. We hear that the holy of holies in the tabernacle was made with linen and dyed with purple and blue and scarlet, Joseph was arrayed in vestures of fine linen by Pharaoh, Christ was buried in linen and the saints return dressed in white linen. Linen has symbolism of purity though Christ ‘s sacrifice.
